Proofreader/ Editor Seeking Employment

Since achieving a 2:1 BA Honours degree in English at Queen’s University, I have worked for the Northern Irish Education Board (CCEA) as a Technical Editor. Responsibilities included: Proofreading educational material such as exams and mark schemes and liaising with members of staff in regards to grammatical, punctuation, structural and illustrative errors. Most recently, I worked as Chief Project Editor for Australian-based education body ACARA on a nationwide project initiated by Australian Education Minister Julia Gillard. Responsibilities included: Writing the ACARA style guide manual and training material for editors, training and advising hired editors on all aspects of the editorial process and proofreading/editing material within non-negotiable timelines. I have also worked as a freelance journalist and completed a Travel Writing course at Queen's University. I am now seeking full-time, casual or freelance employment in order to apply my proofreading and editorial skills. Available immediately and willing to relocate if required by prospective employer.
