The 2015 Ennis Book Club Festival Programme was launched on Tuesday, January 20. The line-up features Man Booker Prize nominee Niall Williams, former politician Des O’Malley, Eason Novel of the Year winner Mary Costello, The Collins Press author Michael Smith, crime novelists Val McDermid and Paul Carson, and The Stinging Fly’s multi award-winning short story writer Colin Barrett, along with a host of internationally renowned figures.
The Ennis Book Club Festival takes place in County Clare from March 6-8 and includes authors visits, readings, lectures and workshops in various venues across Clare. The event is said to attract an estimated 3,000 people from across Ireland, Europe and the US.
The Festival’s ‘Ones to Watch’ session will feature Tramp Press author Sara Baume, New Island’s Nuala Ní Chonchúir and The Stinging Fly’s Colin Barrett, who are all on track to be national and international literary sensations.
The Festival will be officially opened on Friday 6th March followed by Catalpa, performed by actor Donal O Kelly.
Liz Kelly, Festival Curator says she believes that the 2015 Programme offers “the perfect mix of poetry, politics and fiction.”
Tickets will go on sale at Glór, Ennis, Co. Clare, and from www.glor.ie from Monday January 26th.
