This year’s Trade Day at Smock Alley Theatre promises to be our biggest yet with twice-Oscar nominated Ceo and founder of Cartoon Saloon Paul Young who will join a host of Irish publishing experts for a day of innovation and creation.
Our morning session will focus on ‘WINNERS V. LOSERS’ and what distinguishes the best-seller from the flop (and how if possible to predict either scenario!) with seasoned Irish publishers Michael O’Brien (publisher with O’Brien Press), Fergal Tobin (former publishing director of Gill & Macmillan and now a consultant with the Irish Times Books) and Michael McLoughlin (managing director with Penguin Ireland)
The Same But Different:
THE SAME BUT DIFFERENT: THE THRILLS AND SPILLS OF ESTABLISHING A NEW COMPANY AND MAKING YOUR VOICE STAND OUT
This will be followed by a Q&A session with Books Ireland Magazine. Following coffee then we move to our mid-morning session with newly-established publishers Roads Publishing and Tramp Press. Our INNOVATE/CREATE keynote session will follow after lunch with Cartoon Saloon’s Paul Young, Rowena Neville from Business to Arts and former president of Publishing Ireland, Frank-Scott Lennon from Management Briefs.
