New Writing from Ireland provides a snapshot of contemporary Irish writing. It is distributed to publishers, literary agents and translators around the world at major publishing events such as the Frankfurt Book Fair (8–12 October 2014).
Ireland Literature Exchange uses it as a key tool in the promotion of Irish literature abroad; encouraging the sale of translation rights of Irish works, and affirming Ireland’s international reputation as a centre of literary excellence.
Sinéad Mac Aodha, Director of Ireland Literature Exchange, welcomed the publication, stating that there is a renaissance taking place in Irish literature:
Bold new voices are emerging, energising both the novel and short story forms. Writing for children and young adults in both English and Irish is flourishing, and new and important Irish poetry continues to be published for readers at home and abroad.
New Writing from Ireland is available in print at major book fairs, and to download from the Ireland Literature Exchange website:
