Voices in Children’s Books
Who’s talking and what are they saying?
Who’s listening and what are they hearing?
Having established itself as the most significant event for adults interested in children’s books in the country, the 18th Children’s Books Ireland annual conference once again promises a packed two-day programme of discussion and debate. Under the broad theme of Voices in Children’s Books, an international panel of speakers has been invited to address subjects as diverse as translation, teenage reading habits and the power of oral narrative in encouraging reluctant readers.
This year’s line-up showcases both famous names and new talents, featuring authors, illustrators and academics from Ireland, Germany, Denmark, the US and the UK. The weekend will also feature the CBI Award Presentation in recognition of outstanding contribution and achievement in the field of children’s literature, which this year will be hosted by the Dublin Print Museum.

writers all over Ireland, CLÉ - Irish Book Publishers‚
Association, with the support of The Touring Experiment and the
Library network, organised a series of nationwide
Author/Editor evenings, the CLÉ Author & Editor Library Tour.
