E-marketing & Book Publicity

Course Title: E-marketing & Book Publicity
Venue: Dublin City Centre - TBC
Dates: Wednesday 18 June and Thursday 19 June
Tutor: Wednesday - Rachel Maund, Thursday - Panel chaired by Grainne Killeen
Times: Wednesday 9.15am to 5.15pm, Thursday 9.15am to 1.00pm

CLÉ is delighted to offer a training opportunity to develop book marketing and publicity skills. Day One focuses on the almost limitless potential of e-marketing. How do you decide what's manageable and integrate it within your other marketing activities? This is emphatically not a course for techies, but you will leave feeling more confident about realistic options, and with plenty of guidance in putting them into practice.

The Seminar on Day Two looks more generally at Book Publicity and will feature a panel discussion with key figures representing the media, book publicity and specialist marketing skills.

Rachel Maund of London-based publishing training provider Marketability will be your tutor for day one. Prior to 1999, Rachel held senior marketing positions in academic, STM and professional publishing before setting up Marketability, which provides marketing support, market research and consultancy to publishers of all sectors, as well as being one of the UK's foremost provider of marketing training for publishers. She also tutors for all the main providers in the UK and regularly trains overseas, in Singapore, China, Australia and Mexico.

Rachel will join media representatives from Radio and Print for a discussion on book publicity in Ireland - the selection process for reviews, features and author interviews, the increasing role of e-marketing in the world of book publicity and the challenges faced by Irish Book Publicists. The seminar will be chaired by independent book publicist Gráinne Killeen and there will be a Q&A after each session.
