Blackstaff Press at 50
Blackstaff Press wants you to join them to celebrate their fiftieth birthday!
In 1971, at the height of the Troubles, Jim and Diane Gracey took a huge leap of faith and founded a publishing house in Northern Ireland. Fifty years on, Blackstaff Press is still an important publishing house on this island, with a reputation for originality, quality and tenacity.
Through conversation and some archive treats they’ll celebrate the remarkable story of a press that has defined publishing in Northern Ireland for half a century. This event will explore the vision that has underpinned Blackstaff; the defining moments in its history; how it kept going through the tough years; and what lies ahead for both Blackstaff and publishing in Northern Ireland.
Naturally, they’ll also be talking about some of its most influential books and authors with an all-star line up.
