Working Together to Sell More Books: Fever Pitch Session: Booksellers’Association Conference
This year, Publishing Ireland will join forces with the Booksellers’ Association in its networking conference event and dinner dance. In addition to a session on the successes and failures, which this time will include a panel of booksellers as well as publishers (Maria Dickenson of Dubray Books will join Liam Donnelly to our panel of publishers TBC), Publishing Ireland would like to host an event entitled ‘Fever Pitch’.
Fever Pitch will deliver a quick-fire session where publishers get 4-5 minutes to present forthcoming titles to booksellers. It’s strictly time-controlled, with a bell being run at the end of each of the four minutes. This creates a bit of fun, good energy and it has been a very positive and useful session in other BA events.
Publishing Ireland would like to invite expressions of interest from Publishers, who would be prepared to do a quick presentation on 4-5 forthcoming titles – obviously good bookshop titles would be key, and we would especially like to hear from our smaller publishing members.
