InDesign I & II Not Just for Designers!
InDesign is an essential tool for publishing professionals across a range of disciplines. It is the industry standard programme for typesetting, ebook creation and full jacket design. However a proficiency with InDesign will benefit more than just your designers. It is also ideal for marketing staff to create their own flyers, catalogues, posters, even AIs! We recommend this course for both entry level staff and more established staff looking to upskill and have broken it down into two discrete parts which can be booked separately depending on your requirements.
Further, Adobe InDesign gives accurate control over typography. Its intuitive design environment lets the user produce page layouts quickly. As a text handler, InDesign’s capabilities save hours of time in large, multi-page documents.
Part I, Wednesday, 17 October: This will suit entry-level publishing staff and those who have some knowledge of the software but would like to apply it more effectively. We will take you through the basics of InDesign from identifying its interface components and navigation controls to creating documents, graphics and application of styles. You will also learn how to manipulate objects as well as packaging for both web and print.
Part II, 22 October. Part II will suit those with good working knowledge of the software, but who would like to know more or brush up on their skills. In this section we will go into the creation of duplicate items, handling text layouts and importing styles as well as creating books, hyperlinks and exporting PDF files.
