Life Cycle of the Book series

The Life Cycle of the Book is a series presented by Publishing Ireland in association with the Irish Writers Centre and supported by Words Ireland. The series will be made up of short evening talks on the different aspects of the publishing process, aimed at both established and aspiring writers, anyone interested in working in the book publishing industry or those with a love of the physical book. If you are interested in how books come to life behind the scenes then this series is perfect for you. Each talk will break down the stages of publishing, from putting pen to page, right through to books coming to our attention through the media.

There will be four talks in total, covering ‘The Writing Process’, ‘Getting Published’, ‘What Publishers Do’ and ‘Reaching the Reader’.  Each talk will include a panel of three experts, who will discuss their respective experiences with an audience Q&A to follow.
