New Role – Junior Editor

Junior Editor

Are you looking to pursue a career within publishing? A leading educational publishing company based in Dublin is looking to recruit an ambitious and pro-active Junior Editor to join their busy, friendly team. This will be a varied and highly interesting role where you will assist the editorial team with numerous tasks, as well as managing some of your own projects. This is a fabulous opportunity for someone looking for their next challenge in publishing and looking to develop while working within a dynamic growing team. This role will be based in Dublin.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Copyediting and proofreading and collating and checking corrections
  • Copyright clearance
  • Briefing illustrators and checking illustrations
  • Project management
  • Creating and checking digital resources and contributing to social media campaigns
  • Photo research
  • Administrative tasks e.g., posting out proofs, scanning corrections etc.

This is a great role to learn all about publishing and the successful person will be educated to degree level or equivalent.  You will ideally have some experience within the publishing industry and possess solid copyediting and proofreading skills. Sound project management skills are required as are exceptional time management and prioritizing skills.  An interest in design, digital learning and multimedia is desirable as is an interest in education.  You will also have great IT skills, in particular MS Word. A knowledge of the Irish language would be an advantage but is not essential.
