New season of the All About Books show on Dublin City 103.2FM

Featuring interviews with Irish authors, public figures and publishers

18th August 2020: A new season of the All About Books show on Dublin City FM will be on air from August 20th. All About Books is a weekly dive into the world of books every Thursday afternoon. The show will be broadcast on Dublin City 103.2FM on Thursdays at 3.30pm, and will cover new book releases, the latest industry news, and author profiles.

Presented by Joanne O’Sullivan, the 30-minute show will feature interviews with authors, booksellers, publishers and reviewers. From autobiographies to YA, the show will be discussing all types of books from high and low across all categories and genres. The show will be aimed at a wide range of audiences and all kinds of readers, whether you’re a total bookworm or occasional reader. Tune in if you’d like to learn more about where authors get their inspiration and how the Irish book industry works.
The new season of the All About Books show on Dublin City FM will begin on Thursday, August 20th. The show’s first guest will be Louisa Earls from the bookshop, Books Upstairs, Dublin’s Oldest Independent Bookshop. She’ll be discussing the country’s reading habits during lockdown, how bookshops like Books Upstairs are managing in the new retail environment, and the importance of supporting independent bookshops. As well as interviews with people from the books industry, the show will also feature a book pick of the week and will cover industry updates, events and new releases.

Upcoming guests will include authors, publishers, reviewers and book lovers from across the industry. Novelist Donal Ryan will join Joanne on the second episode of the show to discuss his new novel of loss and redemption, Strange Flowers. Poet Doireann Ní Ghríofa will be interviewed about her stunning prose debut A Ghost in the Throat, and author Louise O’Neill will be talking about her new novel After the Silence; a twisty page-turner of deadly secrets and an unsolved murder investigation.  Irish Independent journalist Ellen Coyne will be talking to Joanne about her non-fiction debut on Catholic faith in modern Ireland, Are You There God? It’s Me, Ellen; and writer Jack Fennell will be discussing the collection he’s edited on Irish fantasy stories; It Rose Up: A Selection of Lost Irish Fantasy Stories.
