The London Book Fair

LBF logo

From the 12th to the 14th April 2016, the 45th London Book Fair will take place in the Olympia, West London. It is the global marketplace for rights negotiation and the sale and distribution of content across print, audio, TV, film and digital channels.

The LBF has truly grown in the last few years with record numbers of 25,000 attendees coming from 125 countries and 1,600 exhibitors coming from over 60 countries last year. With everyone in the industry under one roof at the same time, The London Book Fair provides exhibitors and attendees with the perfect platform to engage with customers, demonstrate their products, build brand awareness, conduct face to face business and make sales. This not only saves time but money too. This event is also very inspiring, seeing as it has become very strongly affiliated with terms of international rights sales.

LBF
The LBF allows you to sit in on over 200 free seminars covering all areas of publishing such as The Industry around the Globe, Literary Translation: Making Words Travel and People Development: Re-skilling our industry. Authors, talent scouts, editors, designers, digital gurus, publishers all walk the floor, meeting, talking, observing, discovering and it really is an event for everyone.

However as there is a lot to see and do, with over 70 seminars a day, you should make a plan of all the things you want to accomplish so you don’t miss out on anything, and to help you with that there is a handy London Book Fair 2016 app that is free to download.

So the London Book Fair is a “great opportunity to network, find out new trends in the industry and to think about what to do next.” This event is definitely something that can’t be missed and we hope that a large number of Irish publishers, authors, editors, etc. will attend.
