New Island is delighted to announce the forthcoming publication of The New Frontier: Reflections From the Irish Border a landmark anthology from some of Ireland’s greatest contemporary writers, marking the centenary of partition and renewed international focus on the Irish border. 

At a time when the division of our shared island has once again become an international concern, the Border is now a threshold between Europe and the United Kingdom, and The New Frontier seeks to explore the meaning of this partition in the21st century for those people that inhabit it. The anthology follows in the footsteps of New Island’s recent pioneering anthologies – The Long Gaze Back, The Glass Shore and Female Lines – whilst making its own mark as a key cultural and literary touchstone.
